Hello, I’m Jan Glarum. I have close to thirty years of experience in the fields of emergency response, hazard analysis, risk management, plan development, and counter-terrorism. I bring diverse groups of people together to plan for the problems that large-scale emergencies create and to deal with these crises effectively. In this capacity, I’ve worked with everyone from private companies to local, county, state and federal agencies.
I’ve done consultation for FEMA Region V as a catastrophic planner. I’ve written several appendixes to their Catastrophic Earthquake Plan which focuses on a New Madid Earthquake. I’m also consulting with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and provide Incident Command System (ICS) Training. In addition, I provide advanced trauma training with Emergency Medical Preparedness and Response Solutions, and hazardous materials training for special weapons and tactics police teams on behalf of Safety Training Consulting International.
Currently, I am looking for new opportunities with those interested in innovative and common sense approaches to emergency preparedness and response.
Past Work
For the last 16 years, I’ve done considerable work in the field as a counter-terrorism consultant and instructor in support of civilian and military operations. I’ve contributed to several publications including Homeland Security Field Guide, Biosecurity and Bioterrorism, Pandemic Influenza – Community Response, and Hospital Emergency Response Teams.
